Marty Wollner Effort to help launch disc sports In India

This is an effort to help introduce disc sports to the 1 Billion people of India. On a recent visit, I checked into it, and found no disc golf courses in the entire country! There are only Ultimate teams in a few cities. I discovered that disc sports are just taking off in a big way in India as Ultimate Frisbee.
Since my return, I've thought about sponsori

Rev. Noah I have a course!?

I've been dubbed the new course pro/TD at one of our local courses. I'm pretty stoked and a little nervous. Roach, the previous course pro/TD has done an amazing job maintaining the course and running some of the most enjoyable events I and many others have attended. After 11 years of keeping buzzy's going he's passed the torch to me. wow. I hope I can fill the shoes he's handed me. It's good to know that I've got him and a great club to fall back on for the help I'll need. and that's my story. Continue

John McMullen Moving to Yosemite Cali

Priorities ... family, fun, and work ... in that order. My wife just took a job as Film Permits Officer for Yosemite National Park in California. We're expecting to move out there the end of February (or at least get her out there to start her job). I'll be wrapping up our home here in Carbondale Colorado for rent/lease and then heading to Northern California. Being the only graphic designer/web designer ... designer period ... here at the office has taken too much of my time from family and f… Continue

Zach Ellerbrook First Tourney - Baptism by Ice

I had two goals at my first tournament, the 6th Annual Bud Hill Ice Bowl, just outside Memphis, TN. 1. Place higher than last. 2. Don't lose any discs. Well, not only did I come in last, but I lost two discs... on the same hole of course. Not only did I card a triple-circle 9 on hole #18, my first round was my worst score ever, at a whopping 82. Here's the thing: It was so far the best experience I've had in disc golf. First of all, I followed up my 82 with a 69, which is my second round unde… Continue

Fred Bear Creek existence

Anyone who enjoys playing at Bear Creek Grapvine TX needs to attend a meeting at the course Feb 6. I think it said 10 AM. The director of parks has said the courses existence is at stake. I would hate to see this course go, it is one of the best in the DFW area. I drive 25 miles right by 4 courses just to go play Bear Creek cuz its the funnest. I don't know much about the meeting but this is what I do know,,,The residents in the area have complained and Parks Director David Evans has posted sign… Continue

DiscGolf365 DiscGolf365.com - Now Launching Phase 2

Most of the preliminary testing has been done, there are still a couple small issues that I'm aware of and working on which cause the stream to freeze on certain clips. But please check it out, spread the word and let me know what you think. It currently is broadcasting a bunch of videos from 2009, including tournaments videos, player interviews and other promotional pieces, along with some music from some bands I know or have acquired the rights to. Many new features and clips are coming soon,… Continue

J.D.Guy Narrowing Down Molds, or at least trying to

Well, I wouldn't have thought just months after borrowing my friend's disc, that I would own 30+ of my own. I have had some hits, some misses, but harder is the inbetweens that I'm just not sure of yet. As I see my distance grow, some discs are making their way out of my bag, while others have found a home. Drivers: (3) Predator (2) Surge (1) Xcaliber (2) Teerex (2) Surge SS (3) Beast (3) Sidewinder (1) Leopard Midrange: (1) Stalker (yes, i know, not technically a d… Continue

J.D.Guy Great Day of Disc Golf

Yesterday, i played 3 rounds at one course and 1 at another. Scored 3, 2 then 0. At my home course later, i scored a -1. No mulligan's, no redos, etc. Putting was on like donkey kong. Best day for me, getting closer and closer to consistent par golf. Woot!!! J.D. Continue

Just... aces

WHAT! Got my second ACE of 2010 today. I stuck my red Z Buzzz in hole 4B at Morley. Unfortunately, out of 9 fellow golfers, I only cashed in $1 measley dollar! Brian Leavitt My Journey into Disc Golf (Part 1)

Well, I suppose you could call this a blog series of sorts that I hope to keep up as I progress through my hopeful disc golf "career." The Discovery It was late one night in early January 2010, and I could not sleep. I had been having problems with insomnia, depression, apathy, and avolition (or, a loss of willpower and such) for quite some time now. I mainly attributed these things to a lack of activity (i.e. actually getting out and moving). This night I got bored and surfed around on… Continue

Jon Medlin First Time At Bud Hill

Yesterday was a great day. I got to make it out to Bud Hill in Memphis Tennessee for the first time. The course is gorgeous and there is a little 9 hole course there that is just as fun as the main course. It is absolutely breathtaking. But now for the best part of the day. A friend of mine and his wife met me out there. I also had my fiance with me. Yesterday was her first day to ever play disc golf. All four of us had a blast. Angela enjoyed playing and made some new friends as well. Only pro… Continue

Sean Perkins Got my dad into disc golf

I bought my dad a bag and discs for xmas as an attempt to really get my dad out and play. All he does is hear about what I do when he asks me. I ended up buying him a Pro Leopard, Star TL, SS-Voodoo, Pro Starfire, FLX Buzzz, and a Rattler. I've noticed that he LOVES the FLX Buzzz and mainly just the plastic because of grip and feel. He used to play Ultimate and Freestyle and that is one reason that I got him the Rattler as it seems that it is the closest disc to those type. We've played about ev… Continue

It makes perfect sense, it's called the hyzer fl/flex shot and it's awsome for getting the max D when you need it. The katana is one of the best ive' thrown for this shot. It's to long though. I tried to throw an air roller with the disc; the thing…
