Spring in Wisconsin is with us now in full force, with the leaves coming out, trilliums and other wildflowers blooming and, of course, grass growing. Yes, its mowing season again. Time to fill up the tractors and try to keep everything tame. Oh well, what it takes up in time it gives back in relaxation!

With the warmer weather, the Ashford Pines is just about playable. There are still some pretty large snowfields on the top of the hill, but otherwise you can start to pick your way around some of the more open (sunny) holes. I'm looking very forward to being able to get out and walk around with a couple of discs, picking throws here or there as I see fit. 10 more inches of snow last Thursday, and the Ashford Pines remains in its nearly unplayable state that it has been in since the second week of December. Almost 4 months of near dormancy, continuous substantial snow depth the whole time. Its been an unbelievable winter. Been able to start some chainsaw work the last couple of weeks, but the snow depth still makes it hard to drag the branches, boughs and the like. I moved to my current residence in late November, 2001 with the intention of putting in a private disc golf course (as well as raise a family and so on).
