That's what I'm talking about...A perfect example of why I never play whenever I've had to run an event...Given the TomFoolery that TDs inevitably need to deal with, it just seems easier to sit it out and focus on running the event...

I've only run 1 tourny. Only 30 some people preregistered, but the day of came around & it filled! I can't imagine trying to play & keep the event organized for almost 100 people. I know some TD's do it, but I don't think it's a good idea. Since I d…

I carry a golf ball for just such an occasion... Also a Contractor's Tape measure works very well... no throwing required.

I would tend to agree with Mr Ellis. There is so much to deal with that, as a TD, I never play when running a tourney (sanctioned or otherwise). Run it or play it, but never do both. Just too much to deal with. IMO

we had a Tournament Official (not the TD) play in a tourney recently, tried to stroke a guy for a foot fault without warning first, and waited to say something till he was on his next shot. thankfully, the TD overturned it. not the same i know, but…

I concur to what Mark is saying........... We should support them and help out, thus making it easier for them to compete with us and not having the burden of being......"god" for the day and having to wipe out everyones poopy diaper. If we share…

If a TD can pull it off, more power to them. I tried it once and found I could not play well. My concentration was not on my game: it was on tournament issues. Even running a simple local league took away from my game. I couldn't warm up well. I wa…

You wouldnt.. come on. All the time effort and everything TD's put into the tournament. I dont see a problem with it and I would do it if I was in their shoes .

No, I am a TD myself and I was more wondering how the rest of the community felt. I have seen TDs in the past play in their own tournaments and the tournament run poorly and the report not turned in for almost a year. However, recently I have seen m…

I just learned at our last club meeting that if the event is an A-tier then the TD is not allowed to play by PDGA rules. Otherwise if the TD can pull off running everything smoothly and playing then more power to them.

Tournaments and closing courses

So this past weekend I played a tournament June 21st. This tournament was sanctioned by the PDGA but due to the city owning the baskets and not the club that hosted the event the course could not be closed. Throughout the tournament there was casuals backing up holes slowing the tournament down. If you left any disc behind they would be taken by the casuals. IMO any course being used for a tournament should be closed to the public. When I am playing in a tournament and have paid cash I should no… Continue

Hell yeah.. Sorry it took me awhile to accept your friend request. I don't get on here much. I say let's hit up Cedar Hills or Middle Creek when she's dry. I'm down for whenever it's nice. Losing this hour of daylight sucks though.

I am down for whatever but the downfall is my lack of transportation. Robert Morris is 3.5 miles from my house, but I was thinking about playing Oshtemo around noon. If I play Oshtemo I have to leave the house at 10 oclock and ride the bus for over an hour to get to that side of town. Ill be awake at 9ish and get online to see whats up witcha

Lawrence,
The first runs were just made. The Ringer was made in D. The Stalker was made in Z. Both feel good. I have only thrown the prototypes. I was playing with Pros yesterday who loved the first run Stalker.

I have no idea what the production schedule for the Ringer is. If I see them being run I will let you know.
